Embassy of Japan in Nepal
The Embassy of Japan in Nepal has played a central role in strengthening diplomatic, economic, technical, and cultural relations between Japan and Nepal since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1956. The Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu officially opened in February 1968, with H.E. Mr. Hidemichi Kira serving as the first resident Ambassador to Nepal. Through its wide-ranging cooperation initiatives, the Embassy continues to promote mutual understanding, friendship, and Nepal's sustainable development.
The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), Japan
Established in 1959, AOTS is Japan's leading organization dedicated to human resource development, technical cooperation, and sustainable industrial partnerships with developing countries. Under programs supported primarily by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), AOTS has built a long-standing partnership with Nepal, inviting more than 1,300 Nepalese professionals to training programs in Japan, conducting overseas training programs for over 2,200 participants in Nepal, and dispatching nearly 20 experts and interns to Nepal. These initiatives have made a significant contribution to strengthening Nepal's industrial capacity and fostering enduring Nepal–Japan cooperation.
Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nepal (JCCN)
The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nepal (JCCN) represents the Japanese business community in Nepal and serves as a platform for promoting trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Japan and Nepal. Through collaboration with government agencies, business organizations, and industry stakeholders, JCCN contributes to strengthening bilateral commercial ties and supporting Japanese enterprises operating in Nepal.
